RULES & POLICIES
RACE COURSE
-
The course for all races is land start and land finish type. Sighting buoys will be placed at intervals of 150-200 m along the course.
-
Swimmers will be required to swim to the right of the buoys. Buoys will be on your left at all times.
-
Swimmers will swim out to clearly marked anchored boats (fitted with timing radar). At the designated boat, the swimmers MUST pass close to the boats (not more than 5 feet) and raise their right hand out of the water to allow the timing radar to capture the data from the timing tag on their right wrist.
-
Swimmers can use this opportunity at the boat to hydrate/replenish/rest
-
Once adequately refreshed and re-energized, swimmers have to turn to the left, i.e. counter-clockwise and continue with their swim.
-
-
DO NOT enter and begin the swim from any other point other than the designated start line - failure to follow these instructions will lead to disqualification. The start is a mass start and swimmers are advised to self-seed i.e., position oneself in the starting pen according to their expected finish time and ability. Those who swim slower should stay towards the back of the line-up.
-
Organizers reserve the right to change the said course at any time, this may arise due to construction activity, security and safety reasons, non-compliance from government authorities or any other reasons the organizers deem fit.
-
Trash bins will be set-up on the beach and will be available on the boats. Enduro Sports Goa has a strict litter free policy and any swimmer found littering by a Race Official will be time penalized by an addition of 10 minutes to their final swim time. Bottles, wrappers etc. are to be disposed of in the trash bins only and are not to be discarded on the beach or in the water.
-
Swimmers are responsible for studying and understanding their race course in entirety. Queries regarding the race course are to be directed solely towards the race director and organizers. Volunteers are primarily available at the event to assist swimmers with hydration and nutrition as well as to offer encouragement to swimmers. It is not the responsibility of the volunteers to provide directions of the race course or to keep lap counts for swimmers. Swimmers are requested to refrain from asking the same of the volunteers to avoid confusion and the possibility of DNF/DNQ/DQ status.
-
Tide chart available at https://tides4fishing.com/in/goa/taleigao. The average water temperature will be 26-28℃.
PRE-RACE PROGRAMME
1. PRE-EVENT SWIM ORIENTATION SESSIONS
